Features

A) Just click the "Start Transfer" button on the toolbar to start transferring files in the queue. To enable immediate transfer on double-click, go to [Options | Advanced | Double click action].

A) You can change the local directory to that the partially downloaded file resides in. Then connect to the FTP site and start downloading the file. TurboFTP will detect the existing local file and pop up a Confirm Overwrite dialog box. Choose "Resume" to resume the last download.

A) Just pay attention to the messages in the Log Window when you log into an FTP server. TurboFTP will check whether the server supports broken download resume after a connection is established. If yes, a status message "This site can resume broken downloads." will be displayed. Otherwise, it will say, "This site cannot resume broken download."

A) You are connected to a UNIX server. TurboFTP automatically detects you are transferring an ASCII file and by default transfers it in ASCII mode, whereby the UNIX server will convert it to UNIX text format. While a line in text file of DOS format has a Line Feed and Carriage Return pair (LF/CR), the UNIX format only has a line feed. That is why the size becomes smaller after the text file is uploaded.

A) This is due to a share violation. Be sure that you have not opened the file in other applications.

A) Yes. You can right click the file in the Queue Window and choose "Edit Queue Entry". Be sure to enter full path as the new destination path.

A) Check whether [Options | Firewall | Use PASV mode] is enabled. If not, enable it, reconnect and upload again. If it doesn't solve the problem, contact us (Please attach relevant log in the email - right click in the log window and choose [Copy All] then paste it in your email).

Check whether local time and remote file time are of the same time zone. If not, go to [Advanced Site Settings | Files | Server Time Offset] and enter a proper value. Suppose you see a newly uploaded file in the Remote Browser Pane has a timestamp of 13:30, while the time of your system clock is 21:30, then you should enter a server time offset value of 8 (hours).

Although it doesn't automatically disconnect the next sync task will still be launched timely, and the ftp site in the next sync task will then be connected. To force disconnecting from a site after a scheduled transfer is finished, use [Options | Events | On transfer complete | Disconnect from site].

Enable [Advanced Site Settings | Synchronization | Ignore file name case].

Enable [Advanced Site Settings | Synchronization | Compare file size rather than file time].

You might have another profile of the same address but different port (21) stored in your Address Book in a position ahead of the 990 one. In this case TurboFTP uses the one with matching address that it first finds in Address Book. If so what you should do is either to remove the 21 one or to use a different address for one of them (for example, IP address), with another using domain address.

A) You need to have administrator privilege to install the Sync Service module as NT service.

A) You can view the schedule task reports in the Task Scheduler dialog. Use button "Scheduler Log" to view global schedule log showing the startup and termination of all tasks; use button "Task Log" to see full raw log of the individual schedule task currently selected in the Scheduler. If you are running Sync Service as NT service, the global schedule log is also dumped to NT event log. You can also have a notification email sent to you upon completion of each schedule task (menu [Tools | Email Notification]).

A) First make sure [Options | General | Store program settings in turboftp.ini] is checked. See the NT event log to verify whether the NT service is started. And then check in event log whether the individual schedule task is subsequently started, if no try restarting the service and reenabling the scheduler (these can be done in the scheduler dialog).

If all the above are true, check the individual task log. To do so, open up the Task Scheduler dialog, highlight the task in question, and press the button 'Task Log' which brings up the log of this task. Look for the log entries whose timestamp matches the time the task is set up to run so that you are viewing the correct log contents. Please forward us (support@turboftp.com) the log and it will help us to look into the problem.

A) The TurboFTP Sync Service module is a module that allows you to run schedule tasks as a generic NT service, which means once you have configured and started the schedule tasks, no user logon is necessary to keep the jobs running. The Sync Service supports simultaneous multiple schedule tasks and offers better performance. Note that it can only be run as NT service on windows platforms that support it (Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 Server). The Sync Service module can also be run as a normal console program and accomplish an one-time FTP synchronization job or a group file transfer job by feeding appropriate command line parameters. If you don't need these features and advantages you can order TurboFTP without the Sync Service module. TurboFTP GUI program alone can also do scheduled FTP transfer and synchronization but can only do one job at a time and cannot run it as NT service without the Sync Service module.

A)We currently do not accept the PO in its original sense. There are however multiple payment options available, each one requiring you to send us payment before we can issue the key code.

A) If you use registration service of RegSoft.com or ShareIt.com, the confirmation along with the registration code shall be sent to your e-mail address (the one you provide in the order form) right after the order is processed and authorized. For an order via PayPal please allow 24 hours for delivery of your key code.
It is very important that you should make sure you enter your contact e-mail correctly in the online order form and make sure you check the mailbox of that e-mail address afterwards. (Some customers used their company e-mail address to order but forgot to check the right mailbox and expected to receive confirmation sent to their personal e-mail address.)

A) First please make sure you are using the latest version of TurboFTP. Registration keys for different versions of TurboFTP can be different (Check out the latest version at our download page). Unneeded characters in the name or key copied from the notification e-mail, e.g. trailing newline characters, can also cause this problem. To avoid this, try entering the key pair manually. If the problem persists, contact us This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it now.

A) The customer should place his order online and select the wire transfer payment option, he will then get instructions on how much to pay and where to send the payment.

A) Within 30 days as of purchase of our product you can request full refund of it if you find that you are not satisfied with the product. Our 30-day refund guarantee doesn't apply to purchase with an amount exceeding USD 250. You will need to sign a Letter of Intellectual Property Destruction and uninstall all copies of the software to be eligible for refund.

A) Make your Internet connection is working. If you are behind a firewall, you have to connect to a server outside via firewall. Ask the administrator of your network and fill in the correct firewall information in the Options|Firewall tab. Some router-based firewalls require you to use PASV mode (for data transfer).

A) It is very likely the remote server is behind a router or a firewall. Switch TurboFTP to Passive Mode if you have not done so (enable [Options|Firewall|Use PASV mode]) or disable the Passive Mode if you are already using it, and connect again. If you still get the 425 error code, let us know the problem. 425 cannot open data connection problem

A) If your FTP server supports SSL/TLS, go to [Advanced Site Settings|Security|Secure Connection] specify the secure connection type your server supports, then launch the connection attempt as normal. After secure FTP connection is established, you will see a secure lock icon on the status bar. You can double-click on it to see the server's SSL certificate information.

A) In explicit SSL (or in TLS) the FTP client needs to send an explicit command ( i.e. "AUTH SSL" or "AUTH TLS") to FTP server to initiate a secure control connection; while in implicit encryption the client establishes secure control connection upon connection with the server. Default server port for implicit SSL is 990.

A) If you are using Wingate's FTP proxy, go to [Options|Firewall] and set the firewall type to be [USER with no logon]. In the "Host" field enter the name/address of the Wingate machine. In the "Port" field enter the service port number of Wingate. Also enable the "Use Firewall" option. The other options in this tab are not related to Wingate.
Above configuration applies to WinProxy's FTP proxy as well.

A) With ZoneAlarm you need to allow TurboFTP to connect to Local and Internet Zone (Program Settings|"Allow connect" column). Additionally you need to enable [Options|Firewall|Use PASV mode] in TurboFTP.

A) Currently TurboFTP supports FTP server running on the following platforms: Unix ( e.g. Solaris, FreeBSD, Linux, etc), Windows NT (support DOS style listing), VMS. Server type is automatically detected and this frees users from concerning about the type of server they are connecting to.

A) Go to Options|Advanced|Retry delay, set a new value (in seconds).

A) TurboFTP does not currently support HTTP. TurboFTP only supports FTP (ftp://) addresses.
