Use this command to go to the parent directory.

List View

Displays items in a list.

Details View

Displays all information of each item.

Select All

Selects all the items.

Arrange Icons

This popup menu provides different sorting methods to arrange items in the Local Browser Pane. Items can be sorted by name, size, type, or by date.

Group Select

Use this to select files matching a filename pattern (wildcard). You can choose to apply wildcards to folder names and whether the previous selection is cleared first or remains.

Refresh

Refresh the contents of the Local Browser Pane.

Make new directory

Use this command to make a new folder in the current local directory.

Find

Use this command to find an item containing a given string. It can also be invoked by CTRL-F.

Find Next

Continue to search in the local browser pane for another item targeted by the last Find action. You may use F3 to do the same too.

Set default directory

Use this command to make TurboFTP remember the current local directory and display the same directory the next time TurboFTP starts. This is equivalent to setting the Initial Local Folder to the current directory in the General tab of the Options dialog.

The following menu items are visible when you right-click on one or more items in the local browser pane.

Add to Queue

Use this command to add selected items to the transfer queue for uploading. You can also drag the items to the Queue Window. If you add an item into the transfer queue while not connected to any server, the fields for the destination path and the host will be inserted as "unknown". It means the current remote directory will be used whenever a connection is established and the queue transfer is started. Of course, you can change it using Edit Queue Entry in the context menu of Queue Window.

Compress

Compresses selected file(s)/folder(s) into an archive in format zip, tgz, gzip or tar.

Decompress

Decompresses an archive.

OpenPGP encrypt

Choose an existing OpenPGP key to encrypt a selected file.

OpenPGP decrypt

Decrypt selected OpenPGP archive. The corresponding OpenPGP secret key must exist in the keychain to decrypt the file. If the secret key is encrypted with a passphrase, the program will prompt for it. You have the option to have the program remember the passphrase if it proves to be a valid one, such that you don't need to enter it again next time to decrypt a file encrypted with the same key. This is required if you want to enable the OpenPGP option for the Sync Service.

TurboFTP stores the passphrase with strong encryption.

OpenPGP sign

Choose an existing OpenPGP key to create an "detached" signature of the selected file.

Verify OpenPGP signature

Allows you to verify a file against its OpenPGP signature. The signature is a "detached" signature, which contains simply the signature data. A dialog will show up and requires the full paths of the original and signature files. Press the OK button to verify the signature. If the signature matches, a message box will show up indicating the key ID used to sign the file.

Please note OpenPGP signature can be attached to an OpenPGP clear text file (unencrypted archive). In such cases, the signature verification is done simultaneously with "decryption" operation. The result will be shown in the Log Window.

View/Open Selected

Use this command to open the selected file or folder.

If a folder is selected, TurboFTP opens the folder in a Windows Explorer window.

If a file is selected, TurboFTP tries to open this file with an associated program. For example, if you have selected a file with an extension of "html", TurboFTP will open it with the default Internet browser of your system.

Move to

Use this command to move the selected files/folders to another directory. A dialog will pop open and let you specify the destination path. You can choose from the recently used destination paths.

Copy to

Use this command to copy the selected files/folders to another directory. A dialog will pop open and let you specify the destination path. You can choose from the recently used destination paths.

Delete file/directory

Use this command to remove one or more files in the local file system. A popup dialog will let you confirm this action. Pressing Delete key on the keyboard has the same effect. The selected file(s) will be moved to the Recycle Bin. If you want to remove the selected entries from the file system permanently, press Shift at the same time to launch the action.

Rename

This command pops up a dialog and lets you enter a new name for the selected file or folder and then renames it.

Set default directory

Set the initial local directory to the current one, equivalent to [Options | General | Initial Local Folder].

Set Filter

Define wildcards to filter the directory listing in the File Filtering Dialog.
